Three notorious dacoits slain in DG Khan police encounter

Three notorious dacoits who were involved in killing of several policemen died in a police encounter in Dera Ghazi Khan, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.

Sources said that police after receiving intelligence report about presence of criminals cordoned off an area adjacent to Taunsa and started a search operation.

After taking notice of police party, five dacoits opened fire on them.

In retaliation by the police, three dacoits were killed while of their two colleagues escaped from the scene on motorcycle taking advantage of the darkness.

Earlier on April 23, 2025, two Khawarij terrorists were killed and several injured during a joint operation by Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), Pakistan Rangers and Police near Punjab-Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) border in Dera Ghazi Khan.

A police spokesman said that a severe firing incident occurred in the jurisdiction of Wahwah Police Station of Kotanitel area in Dera Ghazi Khan.

During heavy exchange of firing one elite force personnel Adnan Habib and CTD personnel Ghazanfar received minor injuries.
