Dar, UN chief discuss regional situation, peace efforts

Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres to discuss the prevailing regional situation and Islamabad’s ongoing diplomatic initiatives, the Foreign Office spokesperson said on Tuesday.

According to the spokesperson, the two sides exchanged views on key regional developments, with a particular focus on Pakistan’s efforts to promote dialogue and stability through diplomatic channels.

During the conversation, the UN chief appreciated Pakistan’s constructive engagement and its continued role in fostering peace and stability at both regional and global levels.

The spokesperson added that the international community has expressed support for Pakistan’s positive and constructive role in maintaining peace and stability.

Reaffirming its stance, the United Nations reiterated full support for Pakistan’s ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at addressing regional challenges and promoting lasting peace.
