Army helicopters rescue stranded families in Swat

The Army personnel with the help of their aviation helicopters have rescued about 110 stranded people and evacuated them from Khawazakhela to Kanju Cantt in Swat, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to an ISPR statement released on Sunday, four special Army aviation helicopters sorties were flown and 110 stranded people have been evacuated from Khawazakhela to Kanju Cantt in Swat. These stranded people were being provided with meals and necessary medical care, the ISPR added.

The stranded people who were stuck at mountain tops in Kumrat will be evacuated by the Army helicopters which will specially fly from Kamju Cantt in Swat as soon as the weather permits, the military’s media wing said.

Navy paces up relief and rescue operations

Pakistan Navy pressed ahead with its rescue and relief operations in the flood-hit areas of Sindh and Balochistan, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.

The Navy undertook all the safety measures and striving hard to provide flood affectees with food and medical facilities and it will continue to work until the situation in the country gets normalized and every affectee is saved.

According to a Pakistan Navy spokesman, the Navy has been continuing its relief and rescue operations in Sindh, and people stuck in the surrounding areas of Qambar, Bakrani, Larkana and Sukkur were rescued and shifted to safer places in helicopters and boats.

The Navy personnel also distributed rations and food in flood-stricken areas through helicopters. The Navy along with the civilian government is providing medical facilities in flood-hit areas and the rehabilitation process is gearing up in this hour of need.
