A man shot dead the girl he loved and also her father and brother over failure to marry her in Narowal, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.

The incident took place in Mohalla Siddiqpura, police said.

On information, a heavy contingent of police reached the spot while the accused managed to escape from the scene.

The police shifted the bodies of the deceased to District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital.

“Hamza had illicit relations with Tehmina and wanted to marry her,” police said.

“Tehmina’s parents, however, married her off to someone else which infuriated Hamza, and he shot Tehmina and her father and brother dead,” they added.

“The police have erected pickets across the district. The accused will be arrested soon,” they stated.

Meanwhile, the police rounded up 16 suspects including two proclaimed offenders during an operation in Narowal district.

The police also recovered a huge quantity of drugs and arms from the possession of the accused.
