Tri-Nation Series trophy unveiled, Pak-Afghan teams to clash tomorrow

All three captains of Pakistan, Afghanistan and UAE attended the trophy unveiling ceremony and press conference ahead of Tri-Nation Series held in Sharjah on Thursday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

During the press conference, Pakistan T20 captain, Salman Ali Agha said that Sharjah is a historic place where Pakistan has a good track record and they performed well whenever they came to Sharjah.

The Tri-Nation Series will help us a lot in our preparation for the Asia Cup, he is very excited about this series and the other two tri-nation teams are good, so it will be challenging which they are ready for. He said that leading Pakistan team is not only an honor for him, but also a responsibility.

Salman Ali Agha said that currently there are no weaknesses in his side and the team is playing well at the moment and hopefully they will perform well in the upcoming matches as well. To a question about weather, he said professional players don't feel the weather much.

Afghanistan skipper, Rashid Khan said that Afghanistan team has performed will in ICC events in last 4 years and they are well prepared for the tri-nation series and the Asia Cup. Afghan players for the past several months have been playing in different leagues, which has prepared them well. The Afghan team has a good opportunity to play against the best teams in the Tri-Nation and go for the Asia Cup. He said that all three teams are favorites in the tri-nation, whoever plays well will win. The sports gives a message of peace and also asked cricket fans to come in stadium to support and enjoy the game.

UAE captain, Muhammad Waseem said that their team consists of junior and senior players and the performance of their young players in this event will be commendable. 

First match of the tri-series will be played tomorrow between Pakistan and Afghanistan. Pakistan will play their second match against UAE on August 30, third match against Afghanistan on September 2 and last group stage match against UAE on September 4. The final of the series will be played on September 7. All matches in the series will start at 7pm local time (8pm PST).
