Special Assistant to Prime Minister (SAPM) Sania Nishtar has presented to the cabinet an inquiry report on those government servants who received billions of rupees from the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Monday.  

According to the report, 31, 545 government servants devoured the amounts meant for the country’s poor.  

Sania told the cabinet that when checked with the FBR record, an increase in the income of these officials was confirmed.

Demanding termination of services of these bureaucrats, the cabinet members expressed surprise that when these officials were already heavily paid, they still did not feel satisfied.

Sources say that BISP officials are being denied access to details of the fraud since some colleagues of these bureaucrats are busy protecting them.
