Fazl asks party heads to bring MPs' resignations to Jan 1 PDM meeting

Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) president Maulana Fazlur Rehman has asked leaders of political parties, now part of the opposition’s alliance, to bring resignations of their assembly members with them in the next meeting scheduled for January 1, 24NewsHD TV channel reported Monday.
Quoting sources, 24News reported that Maulana Fazlur Rehman would decide the timing of submission of these resignations to the speaker National Assembly after consultations with the heads of opposition parties.
Earlier, the date of Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) leaders’ meeting, which had been convened to discuss Senate and by-elections, was changed. According to the new schedule, the meeting will now be held at Jati Umra on January 1st, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Monday.
JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman will chair the meeting. Sources say former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and former president Asif Ali Zardari will attend the meeting via a video link.
Apart from discussing Senate and by-elections, opposition leaders will also finalise the future course of action with respect to protest demonstrations across the country.
