Saudi foreign minister to visit Pakistan next month

In a major development in strained diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan Al-Saud will visit Pakistan in January.
According to diplomatic sources, a delegation of heads of various Saudi companies and businessmen will accompany the Saudi foreign minister to Pakistan next month. Saudi Energy Minister Abdulaziz bin Salman Al Saud, son of the incumbent Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, will also visit Pakistan along with the high profile personalities of the Gulf state.
Sources said the visiting Saudi delegation would discuss installation of an oil refinery and the prevailing political situation in the Middle East. Ways to improve tense diplomatic relations between the two countries will also come under discussion during Saudi dignitaries’ visit to Islamabad. The Saudi foreign minister will also meet his Pakistani counterpart Shah Mahmood Qureshi, President Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Imran Khan.
