Air passenger detained over tampered UAE visa at Karachi Airport

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) carried out an operation at Karachi Airport, stopping a passenger attempting to travel abroad on a tampered visa, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Sunday.

According to FIA officials, the passenger, identified as Basit Ahmed, was scheduled to fly to the United Arab Emirates on flight number G9-543. The passenger hails from Karachi.

Authorities revealed that the UAE family visit visa presented by Ahmed had been tampered with. Initial investigations indicate that the passenger obtained the visa from an agent in exchange for PKR 200,000.

Air passenger Ahmed reportedly failed to provide a convincing explanation to immigration authorities regarding the purpose of his travel to the UAE.

Following the incident, the passenger was transferred to the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle in Karachi for further legal proceedings, with the responsible agent being identified during the investigation. The FIA has stated that further inquiries into the case are ongoing.
