Entry of vehicles without M-Tag banned in Islamabad from January 1

The Islamabad administration has decided to ban the entry of vehicles without M-Tags into the federal capital starting January 1.

According to 24NewsHD, Deputy Commissioner Islamabad, Irfan Memon, said that strict action will be taken against vehicles without M-Tags on the directives of Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.

He added that motorists will be facilitated through 16 designated points established across Islamabad for the issuance of M-Tags.

Nearly 100,000 vehicles have been issued M-Tags since November 14, reflecting a strong public response to the initiative, he informed.

Irfan Memon further stated that vehicles without M-Tags will be identified using automated tag readers installed at various entry points and checkpoints across the city.

These tag readers will become fully operational from January 1.
