Taking to Instagram, the iconic artist posted a series of stunning photographs captioned simply “Holiday.”

The holiday posts come just weeks after Hadiqa made headlines by announcing the release of her new song Challa across the Sufiscore platform and all major digital music services.

In a heartfelt reel shared on Instagram, the singer explained the deep personal and artistic meaning behind the project.

“I have wonderful news to share with you all. My new song, Challa, is releasing on December 11 on the Sufiscore platform as well as all major digital platforms,” she said. Reflecting on the legacy of the song, Hadiqa added that Challa has been performed by many legendary artists over the years and is a folk-classical piece she had long dreamed of singing.

“I’ve interpreted it in my own way and poured my heart into every note,” she noted, expressing hope that listeners would feel its emotion. Describing her connection to the song, Hadiqa said Challa represents a soul’s journey through the world and its ultimate transcendence.

A timeless Punjabi folk piece, Challa is widely associated with poets like Shiv Kumar Batalvi and legendary singer Reshma. Hadiqa’s rendition serves as a tribute to that legacy, with music arranged by Irfan Kiani and production by Sufiscore.

Known for her versatility, Hadiqa Kiyani has built a celebrated career that bridges genres, languages and generations, ranging from pop hits to deeply emotional folk-inspired compositions. Beyond music, she is equally admired for her humanitarian efforts and cultural influence.

She was awarded the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz in 2006 for her contributions to music and was recently named among the BBC’s “100 Women for 2024,” recognising her impact as both an artist and a humanitarian.

Hadiqa has also served as a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and led initiatives such as the Vaseela-e-Raah project, supporting communities affected by natural disasters in Pakistan.
