Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) Spokesperson Marriyam Aurangzeb in response to PM Imran Khan's speech said that the announcement of the reduction in petrol and electricity prices was a failed attempt to save his job.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, she said that PM Imran has reduced the rates of petrol and electricity due to growing fear of no-confidence motion against him.
She said the rupee has been made cheaper, petrol has been increased by Rs70 in the last three years. She said PM Imran has given a current account deficit of rs12 billion in just 7 months. At this rate, the current account deficit will reach an all-time high of Rs20 billion in the upcoming days.
Marriyam said PM Imran is telling a lie of collecting taxes of Rs6000 billion. The tax revenue of the PML-N era is still higher than the ratio of GDP in sitting government.
PM Imran is using PPP's 1970 and PML-N's 1990 figures to show that inflation is low she said adding that factually, inflation is more than 20 per cent today.
The PML-N spokesperson said inflation in Pakistan is more than double to India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka and according to The Economist, Pakistan is the third most expensive country in the world, followed by Argentina, and Turkey.
She said that the rupee has not gone up to Rs200 against the dollar, so petrol should be Rs130 per litre.
