UAE says one Pakistani national dies in Iranian attacks, offers condolences to family

The UAE has strongly condemned the blatant Iranian missile attacks that targeted the country and a number of sisterly states in the region, saying that these acts are a clear violation of national sovereignty and a breach of the principles of international law and the Charter of the United Nations. 

The UAE expressed its sincere condolences and deepest sympathy to the family and relatives of the Pakistani national who passed away as a result of these attacks, reaffirming its full solidarity with them and stressing that the targeting of civilians and civilian objects is condemned and rejected under all legal and humanitarian standards. 

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed the UAE’s full solidarity and support for the sisterly countries that were targeted, stressing that the security of these nations is indivisible and that any violation of the sovereignty of any of them constitutes a threat to the security and stability of the entire region.

The Ministry also voiced the UAE's firm rejection of the use of the territories of countries in the region as arenas for settling scores or expanding the scope of conflict, warning of the serious consequences of the continuation of such violations, which undermine regional and international security and threaten global economic stability and energy security.

The UAE called for restraint and for resorting to diplomatic solutions and serious dialogue, affirming that this remains the most effective way to overcome current crises and safeguard the security and stability of the region and its peoples.

At the same time, it stressed that it reserves its full and legitimate right to respond to these attacks to ensure the protection of its sovereignty, national security, territorial integrity, and the safety of its citizens and residents in accordance with international law, and that it will not hesitate to safeguard its security and sovereignty under any circumstances.
