Pemra chief warns cable operators against running Indian channels

The Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) in a grand operation against illegal satellite channels in seven districts of Punjab including Lahore seized several receivers and computer systems, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.
The seized material worth millions of rupees were later destroyed with the help of bulldozers in the presence of PEMRA Chairman Muhammad Saleem Baig.

Muhammad Saleem Baig later talking to media persons said Pemra will not tolerate channels that will broadcast content against the ideological basis of Pakistan.
“Cable operators should refrain themselves from running Indian channels,” the Pemra chief issued a warning.
“Pakistan's DTH will launch hopefully by the end of this year as the coronavirus pandemic has delayed its launch,” Saleem Baig further said.
