PML-N senior vice president Maryam Nawaz Saturday said the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz will again rescue Pakistan from its dire economic situation and will put it on the path of progress under the leadership of Nawaz Sharif, reported 24NewsHd TV channel.

Addressing jubilant party workers after exiting the Lahore airport, Maryam said she and her father Nawaz Sharif were well aware of the inflation that the country was mired in and promised that her party resolve the challenge.

She vowed her father would also return to the country and that the PML-N would win elections with significant margins.

She also told supporters that the economy will take some time to recover and called on them to “believe in Ishaq Dar” and herself to “take you out of this”.

Started with conveying the felicitations by the PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif during her first address to the PML-N workers after landing, she said that Nawaz Sharif was still the most popular leader in the country and he was cognizant of the problems of the people.

“He will return to the country soon”, she added.

Commenting on the country’s economy, she said that we had to support Finance Minister Ishaq Dar to steer the country out of economic crisis and it would take time to do so.

“We will not sit until we succeed in changing the course of the nation’s fate”, she added.

She claimed that the PML-N would secure a majority in Punjab adding the party workers were not hesitant to contest for elections. “Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif did not play vengeance game with you [Imran Khan]”, she added.

She said Nawaz was removed from the government forcibly time and again and was forced to leave the country twice but every time he returned after gaining more power.

She said people elected Nawaz Sharif as their prime minister three times and have proved that Nawaz Sharif is the most popular leader of the country.

Maryam said Pakistan was developing in July 2017 and he will bring Pakistan back to progress when he returns.

She said Nawaz Sharif, Maryam and Shehbaz Sharif did not take revenge on anyone.

She said today that person is talking about inflation who used to say that inflation is only on the TV.

She said the opposition should be held accountable for their five years of rule instead of holding the government responsible for their eighth months.

Earlier, Maryam Nawaz landed at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport on Saturday afternoon after spending nearly four months with her father Nawaz Sharif in London.

“Pak sar zameen shad bad,” Maryam tweeted after landing.

The PML-N senior vice-president travelled by PIA flight PK-264 from UAE and touched down at Lahore Airport at around 3:30 pm.

Maryam Nawaz, who had gone to UK on October 6, 2022, had left London for UAE on Thursday. She spent a busy day in Dubai.

At home, PML-N leaders have finalised preparations for Maryam’s warm reception and it has been agreed that she will address the PML-N workers from a container before heading to her Jati Umra residence, and there will be no rally.

On her way back from UAE, Maryam Nawaz will be joined by Federal Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb.

PML-N leaders Captain (retd) Safdar, Saiful Malook Khokhar, Javed Latif, Khawaja Imran Nazeer, Khawaja Salma Rafique, Mubashar Javed and others have given final touches to the arrangements for welcoming Maryam Nawaz at Lahore Airport.

Saif-ul-Mulk Khokhar, the president of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Lahore, said that millions of workers will attend Maryam Nawaz s welcome. "Welcoming the party senior vice president will be a rehearsal for Nawaz Sharif s homecoming," says Khawaja Salman Rafique.

Slight delay in departure

The departure of Maryam Nawaz from Abu Dhabi was delayed after health of a PML-N worker accompanying him deteriorated on board the plane.

Federal Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb said in a tweet said now the plane is ready to take off and Maryam Nawaz will be in Lahore in few hours.
