Prisoners escape after police van meets accident in Hyderabad

Four prisoners escaped after a police van carrying them met with an accident due to brake failure in Hyderabad, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.

According to details, the police van was returning after arresting these four accused and shifting them from Saaeedabad to Police Station Bhatai Nagar.

Soon after the incident, all four accused fled from the scene. 

One assistant sub-inspector (ASI) of the police was seriously injured in the accident.

Police have launched raids in different locaties to apprehend the accused.

Earlier in October 2025, a prisoner receiving treatment at the judicial ward of Civil Hospital Hyderabad escaped after deceiving the security guards, but police re-arrested him within a few hours.

Haris Niazi, an inmate of Hyderabad Central Jail, was admitted to the orthopedic ward for medical treatment. 

Taking advantage of the negligence of jail staff, he walked out of the ward and fled the hospital by boarding a rickshaw. Following the incident, Market Police detained the rickshaw driver, who disclosed that he had dropped the fugitive in Jamshoro. Acting on this information, police traced and arrested Haris Niazi from his residence in Jamshoro.
