Prime Minister Imran Khan through his counsel Barrister Ali Zafar submitted a reply to the Sessions Court praying it to dismiss the defamation suit filed by PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif against him as it was baseless and contrary to the facts, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The Prime Minister said that a person named Omar Farooq told him that there was an offer if he (Imran Khan) stop following the Panama Leaks case then he was ready to pay a huge amount of money.

“The offer did not come directly from Shehbaz Sharif or Nawaz Sharif,” reads the submitted reply submitted by the Prime Minister in the court.

Imran Khan in his reply submitted said, “Shahbaz Sharif did not send any notice in 60 days as per the law and then sent only legal notice on May 8, 2017 without fulfilling the legal requirements.”

“Shahbaz Sharif has been a political opponent for two decades and he himself made multiple statements to defame me. The answer was given in the same way as the bribe was offered. Shahbaz Sharif's reputation may have been affected by some other reason than my statement.”

The premier said, “Shahbaz Sharif's claim is false, baseless and was filed by distorting the facts. The court may dismiss the baseless defamation suit filed by Shehbaz Sharif.”

As per reports, Prime Minister did not deviate from his stance and has now filed a rejoinder after a long delay of four years, however, the reason of this long delay is not clear yet.

PML-N seeks apology from Imran Khan

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) spokesperson Maryam Aurangzeb said that Prime Minister Imran Khan should apologize to PMLN President Shahbaz Sharif for requesting him to take back defamation suit from the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).

She said that the court should punish Imran Khan for his lies and the premier should apologize to Shahbaz Sharif and the nation for lying. “The withdrawing the petition will not make you run away. Accusing someone, slandering someone, lying against someone, Imran Sahib, are you building the state of Madinah? Your lies are political revenge have disgraced political opponents, Imran Sahib The court should not accept this petition but should take legal action against Imran Sahib,” she said in a tweet.

Just now a petition has been withdrawn, Imran Sahib will have to withdraw all his accusations, slanders and lies Withdrawing the petition from the court in the defamation case after four years will not allow you to escape, Imran Sahib The way Imran Sahib had falsely accused Shahbaz Sharif, now apologize publicly.

Imran Sahib finally admitted that Shahbaz Sharif did not offer any money to Panama. Thank God that Shahbaz Sharif proved to be honest and truthful and the face of lies turned black once again. Imran Sahib has been hiding behind the delay for three years.

“Imran Khan has admitted that Shahbaz Sharif did not make any offer to give him money directly,” she said.

Maryam Aurangzeb said that Imran Khan’s false statement of accountability based on political revenge and has now been buried. “Now he just ran away from his own lie. You will take back your every lie, slander and accusation.”
