Asian Squash Federation has slapped a six-month ban on Pakistan player Mehwish Ali for engaging in unsportsman-like conduct following her defeat to Hong Kong’s Chung YL during a match of 32nd Asian Junior individual Championships earlier this month, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.

The Federal invoked the ban due to Mehwish Ali’s unethical behavior during the match, for which she was also came under loads of criticism.

The move came after Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) failed to take any action against Mehwish Ali.

Mehwish Ali was seen engaging in unsportsman-like conduct following her defeat to Hong Kong’s Chung YL in the Round of 16 match at the 32nd Asian Junior Individual Championships, held at the Gimcheon Sports Complex in South Korea on 3 July. Mehwish Ali, who lost with the scoreline reading 11-13, 5-11, 11-13, 4-11, was seen showing the middle finger as she walked off the court after the match, drawing criticism for her behaviour.
