Three of family die as mini-truck smashes rickshaw in Faisalabad
Three members of a same family were killed and three others sustained serious injuries after a Mazda mini-truck smashed a passenger rickshaw near Khanewana Bypass Chowk in Faisalabad on Tuesday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The victims were travelling in the rickshaw when the speeding mini-truck hit the vehicle. Rescue teams rushed to the scene and launched an emergency operation.
The deceased were identified as Manzoor Hussain age 50 years, Shahnaz Bibi age 47 years and Muhammad Adnan age four years, who died on the spot.
The injured were identified as Mustafa age 25 years, Sughran Bibi age 35 years, and Sakina Bibi age 35 years, who all suffered serious head injuries.
Rescue personnel provided first aid to the injured on the scene before shifting them to DHQ Hospital Faisalabad for further medical treatment.
According to Rescue officials, the affected family was travelling from Mian Channu to Chak No. 228-RB Bohagni, Makuana, Faisalabad to attend a Khatm-e-Qul ceremony.
After completing the rescue operation, Rescue officials handed over the bodies of the deceased to their family in the presence of the police, while authorities have begun an investigation into the accident.
