Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar said that a foreign intelligence agency was involved in the Johar Town blast and Punjab Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) has arrested the mastermind and culprits within four days, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Usman Buzdar said three people including a policeman and a child were killed and around 20 were injured in Lahore blast and even injured are still being provided medical treatment.

Punjab government launched the investigation after 16 hours of the Lahore blast and CTD with utmost professionalism arrested the perpetrators of the blast including the accused women as all the evidence has been collected against the accused people.

Usman Buzdar said that the blast occurred on June 23 at 11am. Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar was addressing the press conference along with Special Assistant to CM Firdous Ashiq Awan and Punjab IG Inam Ghani.

Punjab IG Inam Ghani said that around 10 Pakistani nationals are involved in the Lahore Johar Town blast and a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) was made to probe the blast perpetrators.

“Terrorist wanted to target was a police picket,” Punjab’s top cop said.

“We have traced the local and international characters and traced the whole network within hours,” he said.

Inam Ghani said that authorities traced the accused through the car number that was used in the blast. “The persons who sold the car and mechanic who repaired the car are under arrest now,” he added.

Earlier in the day, the Counter Terrorism Department Punjab has claimed to arrest a man suspected of parking the car loaded with explosive material in Johar Town area of Lahore that caused a huge blast and led to the deaths of three people.

The accused has been identified as Eid Gul and has been arrested in a CTD raid in Rawalpindi. The CTD Punjab has shifted the accused from Rawalpindi to Lahore.

The sources said the already arrested main suspect in the case Peter Paul David has also confirmed the identity of the arrested terrorist and has confessed to handing over the car to Eid Gul.

The police have already arrested three more suspects in the case other than David. David has bought the said car he handed over to Eid Gul from Gujranwala a week ago from the blast.
