Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on Saturday expressed her heartfelt grief and sorrow over the tragic incident in Swat River which claimed 11 lives of a family, reported 24NewsHd TV channel.

Punjab Chief Minister also alerted administration and rescue personnel on all the tourist spots across the province.

She directed local administration and rescue personnel to adopt a zero tolerance policy on relief and rescue operations during the rainy season.

On the other hand, Punjab Minister for Information Azma Bokhari said that measures should be adopted to avert River Swat incidents in the future. She said that we should avoid politicizing natural disasters.

She questioned that why Khyber Pakhtunkhwa helicopters failed to reach the site. Why rescue personnel arrived too late.

Azma Bokhari said that such kind of incidents have been happening in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for last twelve years.

The Provincial Information Minister said that even life-boats were not available, where were the divers?

Azma Bokhari said that KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur was waiting outside Adiyala Jail to meet a King at the time of the Swat River incident.

She said that KP governments have been used to attack Islamabad instead of providing relief to the people of the province.
