Tunisian girl seeks Karachi police’s help after ditched by lover

A Tunisian girl reached a police station in Karachi after obtaining a divorce from her Pakistani husband, reported 24NewsHd TV channel on Saturday.

According to details, on November 28, 2024, 19-year-old Sunda Ayari arrived in Karachi after her friendship with Mohammad Amir on Facebook, a resident of Layari.

Initially, parents of Mohammad Amir rejected their marriage proposal, but later they agreed.

On November 29, 2024, the couple married, and their Nikkah was registered in the Baghdadi Union Council.

But only after seven months of their marriage, Mohammad Amir divorced Ayari.

The girl approached the police for help. She informed the police that her Pakistani visa had expired on February 18, 2025 and she had no money to meet her daily expenses.

She told the police that she wanted to return to Tunisia. She appealed to the government to issue her an exit permit.

The police said that they summoned the husband of the girl to the police station, and the husband said that he had already divorced her.

It is necessary to mention here that the girl did not lodge any complaint against her former husband.

Sources said that the girl would be sent back to her country within four to five days.

Interior Minister takes notice

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Saturday took notice of an appeal of a divorced Tunisian girl and directed authorities concerned to issue an exit permit to her immediately.

After the directive, the visa officials of the interior ministry directed women to submit relevant documents to them. They further asked the woman to submit an online application for the issuance of exit permit.

The officials assured that an exit permit will be issued to her as soon as her application is received.
