Bad weather disrupts London flights, leaving thousands of passengers stranded

Thousands of air passengers have been affected after severe weather caused widespread delays and cancellations at London's major airports, 24NewsHD TV reported on Sunday. 

According to international media reports, hundreds of flights were delayed, and dozens were cancelled after heavy rain followed an intense heatwave, disrupting air traffic across the UK.

More than 900 arrivals and departures at Heathrow and Gatwick airports were delayed on Saturday, causing significant inconvenience for travellers.

Heathrow's departure board also showed several flights to and from European destinations as cancelled.

Airport authorities have advised passengers travelling through Heathrow and Gatwick to check the latest flight status with their respective airlines before leaving for the airport.

The UK's air traffic control service has warned that flight delays could continue on Sunday as efforts to restore normal operations remain underway.
