Man held over stabbing of minor girl in Rawalpindi

Dhamyal police in Rawalpindi arrested a man within 24 hours for allegedly stabbing a one-and-a-half-year-old girl, police said.

Police said the child was shifted to the hospital after the incident, where her condition was stated to be out of danger after treatment.

CPO Syed Khalid Hamdani took notice of the incident after receiving information and ordered the immediate arrest of the suspect.

Police said a case had been registered on a complaint filed over the incident.

According to police, the suspect is a relative of the victim’s mother. During the initial investigation, he allegedly told police that he had attacked the child over a personal enmity.

Police said efforts were underway to arrest the suspect’s accomplices.

CPO Syed Khalid Mahmood Hamdani said violence or exploitation of children would not be tolerated under any circumstances.
