Pakistani actress Zara Noor Abbas has addressed the online controversy surrounding her social media activity, calling out what she described as the growing trend of pitting women against one another simply for the sake of online engagement.

The discussion began after social media users noticed that Zara had liked a post comparing the performances of actresses Sajal Aly and Sahar Hashmi in the drama Zanjeerain.

The like quickly sparked speculation, with some users interpreting it as criticism of Sajal Aly, while others defended Zara, saying the reaction was being blown out of proportion.

Breaking her silence through an Instagram Story, Zara shared a strongly worded message that read, "Go ahead and put women against each other. Cat call. Label.

Take things out of context. Make views and money out of these stupid narratives. I'd be more than happy to have someone pay their bills because of me, us or whatever."

Through the post, Zara criticized the culture of creating unnecessary rivalries between women, suggesting that ordinary social media interactions are often taken out of context and turned into sensational stories designed to generate clicks, views and engagement.

The actress also appeared to take a subtle sarcastic swipe at social media pages and entertainment blogs that thrive on celebrity controversies. By saying she was happy if such narratives helped others "pay their bills," Zara implied that some online platforms profit by creating unnecessary drama around public figures.
