The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has installed the first Garder of the new Ravi Bridge in Lahore, which is currently under-construction, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.

The garder was launched with the help of heavy cranes. In all, 96 garders are to be installed.

The completion of the bridge will provide the people of Lahore a new corridor to enter and exit from the city.

After having done with the construction of the Shahdara Flyover, former Punjab caretaker chief minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi had ordered the construction of the bridge in order to facilitate the movement of motorists who had to face a lot of difficulties while crossing the old Ravi Bridge due to frequent traffic jams.

The LDA officials have said that the bridge will be opened for traffic soon after the installation of garders is complete.
