CEO Lodhran Health Dept removed from office in medicines smuggling case
Chief Executive Officer Health Lodhran district Dr Riaz has been removed from his office as Anti-Corruption Department booked him and five other health officials including medical store keeper and Drugs Inspector in smuggling of Rs2.3 million medicines case, reported 24NewsHDTV Channel.
Punjab Health Department's container of medicines was caught in Rawalpindi while being transported to Peshawar. Medicines worth Rs 2.3 million owned by Punjab Health Department were sent to Lodhran for the Clinic on Wheels program but it was being smuggled to Peshawar.
Anti-Corruption Establishment Multan took action and detained health department employees from Lodhran however, instead of facing the probe District Health Officer Dr. Riaz has gone into hiding.
Now Punjab Health Department has removed Dr Riaz from his post.
