Doctors remove iron washer from little boy’s stomach at Lahore hospital

A team of medical experts from Lahore General Hospital (LGH), headed by Assistant Professor Mohammad Shahid, successfully removed an iron washer (previously called washel) from the stomach of a 3-year-old boy through endoscopy, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.

According to details, Assistant Professor Hooria Rehman conducted the procedure successfully under the supervision of Professor Mohammad Shahid. 

Principal Professor Farooq Afzal and Medical Superintendent Professor Dr. Faryad Hussain, lauded the team of medical experts for conducting a successful surgery.

The child was suffering from a fever and a cough for the last ten days. His condition worsened during his treatment at a private clinic. Through X-ray, it was revealed that a foreign body was present inside his stomach.

Parents of the child expressed their pleasure at the successful surgery and said they prayed for the doctors for saving the precious life of their child.
