A man set his family on fire after sprinkling petrol on them after his wife could not serve him meal on time due to the gas outage in Shahdara near Lahore, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.

Punjab Women Protection Authority Chairperson Hina Pervez Butt visited Mayo Hospital in Lahore and held a detailed meeting with the woman along with her daughters, who was set on fire by her husband.

According to details, police arrested the accused and started an investigation after the man locked his family in a room of their house, sprinkled petrol on them and set them ablaze in Shahdara.

Hina Pervez Butt said that the woman and her daughters will be provided legal, medical, and psychological support.

Hina Pervez Butt said that if a man sprinkled petrol on his family and later torched them deserves no concession. Brutal suspects will be made an example of; the law will come into action with all its might.

Hina Pervez Butt said that any man involved in such an incident will be dealt with as per the iron hand. She said that Women Authority will monitor the situation. She directed duty doctors to adopt all necessary procedures to provide treatment to the affected family.

Earlier on Thursday, the man allegedly set his wife and three young daughters on fire in Lahore’s Shahdara area.

Authorities confirmed that the woman and her daughters sustained serious burns to their faces and hands. The injured children have been identified as seven-year-old Hania, three-year-old Iqra, and three-month-old Noor.

Rescue teams responded promptly and shifted all victims to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
