South Korean actor Lee Sang-Bo was found dead at his home in Pyeongtaek, South Korea, at the age of 44, authorities confirmed.
Early reports suggest there are no signs of foul play, though the exact cause of his death remains under investigation.Lee’s body was discovered on the afternoon of March 26 by a family member, who alerted local authorities.
Police from the Pyeongtaek Police Station responded promptly and are carrying out standard investigative procedures to determine the circumstances surrounding his death. While officials have not disclosed the exact cause, they have confirmed that the investigation is ongoing.
Funeral arrangements have already been made, with Lee’s memorial service scheduled for 10:30 am on March 29 at Jungang Funeral Home in Pyeongtaek.
Lee Sang-Bo, who had a notable career in television and film, rose to fame through supporting roles in dramas such as The Elegant Empire, Miss Monte-Cristo, Private Lives, Rugal, Man Who Dies to Live, Bad Love, and his debut series Invisible Man Choi Jang-su. He also appeared in films like Secretly, Greatly, Mephisto, and Kisarazu Cat’s Eye: World Series. In 2025, he signed an exclusive contract with Korea Management Group.
The actor’s passing also brings back memories of a challenging period in 2022, when he was investigated for alleged drug use linked to prescription medication for depression. The investigation was later closed due to insufficient evidence, and Lee was cleared of all allegations.
