As a producer Anushka Sharma has always opted for creatively unorthodox bankroll projects, with the latest example being Paatal Lok.

Paatal Lok has turned out to be a giant success due to its crisp storytelling and stellar performances by the likes of Jaideep Ahlawat and Neeraj Kabi.

But there's also been some backlash against the web show. In addition to being in legal trouble with the Gorkha group for allegedly harming Nepalese sentiments, BJP MLA Nandkishore Gurjar also has beef with Paatal Lok because his image was used in one of its sequences.

In a conversation with Newsroom Post, Nandkishor stated that no one is bigger than the country. Thus, Virat Kohli shouldn’t tolerate it and must divorce Anushka as soon as possible, added the BJP MLA. He also said that this step from the Indian captain will send a strong message to everyone.

“Virat Kohli desh bhakt hai. Desh ke liye khele hain. Anushka ko talaq de dena chahiye (Virat Kohli is a patriot and has represented India. He should divorce Anushka),”

Meanwhile, Anushka, who is overwhelmed by the love that Paatal Lok is receiving from fans and critics alike, spoke to PTI about the possibility of a season two in the future. “You have to wait and watch to know more about season two. I don’t want to divulge too much but let’s just say it’s quite possible. It’s too early to talk about it but yes if Amazon is willing to do it, definitely there will be a second season.”

She added, “We have always stayed true to stories that we want to tell and we will continue to do that. We hope for similar appreciation in the future as well.”
