Beckham Junior’s wife Nicola Peltz asked to appear in court over dog's death

Actress Nicola Peltz has reportedly been ordered to appear in court following the tragic death of her beloved Chihuahua, Nala, after a mobile grooming session in New York.

According to court documents obtained by InTouch Weekly, a judge in the Supreme Court of the State of New York in Westchester County has requested Peltz’s deposition before October 30, after the grooming company, HoundSpa, denied any responsibility for the incident.

The lawsuit, filed by the 30-year-old actress, places blame on groomer Jony Ceballos, whom she alleges has a past involving “intentional and malicious abuse of dogs,” according to TMZ. Peltz claims Nala was left in severe physical distress following a routine grooming in HoundSpa’s mobile van.

Veterinary records reportedly show that Nala had fluid in her lungs, neurological issues, and a rapid heartbeat prior to her passing. However, the exact cause of these symptoms remains undetermined. Peltz is also said to be pursuing legal action against HoundSpa owner Deborah "Deb" Gittleman for continuing to employ Ceballos despite previous complaints.

In the aftermath of Nala's death, Nicola claims she was left emotionally devastated, having personally witnessed her pet's final moments at the emergency vet. Additionally, she says her other dog, Angel, now exhibits trauma-related behaviours – screaming and shaking when left alone after undergoing grooming.

The actress will reportedly be required to authorise the release of Nala’s medical records as part of the court proceedings.

As legal tensions mount, the situation is also said to be straining personal relationships. Nicola and her husband, Brooklyn Beckham, remain at the center of a rumored family rift with the Beckhams, who are based in the UK Meanwhile, Brooklyn publicly reaffirmed his loyalty to Nicola in a heartfelt Instagram video, calling her “my whole world” and pledging, “me and you forever baby.”

Sources close to the Beckham family told The Sun that the post was “like a dagger to their hearts,” suggesting the emotional divide continues to widen. Despite recent attempts at reconciliation – most notably, David and Victoria Beckham’s inclusion of Brooklyn in a family photo at Victoria’s 50th birthday – the young couple was noticeably absent from more recent family events.

Nicola responded to Brooklyn’s Instagram post with a message of her own: “I’ve always got you baby ,” reinforcing their united front amid personal and legal turmoil. Representatives for Nicola Peltz have yet to comment on the ongoing case.
