Bangladesh saves rare ‘Donald Trump’ buffalo from Eid sacrifice

The Bangladesh government has stopped the sacrifice of a rare white buffalo with golden hair that had become widely known by the nickname “Donald Trump” because of its unusual appearance, 24NewsHD TV reported on Thursday. 

According to reports, the animal was originally sold for Eid ul Adha sacrifice, but the government intervened at the last moment after growing public attention and security concerns surrounding the buffalo.

A senior official from Bangladesh’s interior ministry told media outlets that authorities decided to prevent the slaughter after large crowds began gathering to see the animal, with many visitors travelling from distant areas to take photographs with it.

The buffalo, weighing nearly 700 kilograms, gained viral popularity on social media due to its white body and golden-colored hair, which led people to compare it with Donald Trump.

Bangladesh Interior Minister Salahuddin Ahmed ordered officials to return the buyer’s payment and transfer the buffalo to the national zoo in Dhaka for protection.
