PPP clinches 39 Union Council seats in AJK local body elections

PML-N and PTI secure 36 UC seats each: PTI grabs 9 district council seats while PPP gets 4 and PML-N 3: Nawaz League leads race in municipal corporation election as it bags 12 seats, PTI 8 and PPP 7

According to the unofficial results, the Pakistan People’s Party achieved the highest number of union council seats in AJK local government election after bagging 39 out of 142 seats, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday. 

The unofficial results showed that the PPP led the race by grabbing 39 UC seats followed by the PTI and PML-N which both clinched 36 seats each. The independents got 26 UC seats while Muslim Conference achieved 4 seats, and Tehreek-i-Labbaik Pakistan got one seat. 

According to the unofficial district council election results, the PTI won 9 seats out of 21 seats followed by the PPP and independents who grabbed 4 seats. The PML-N bagged 3 seats, and MC got 1 seat. 

According to the unofficial municipal corporation election results, the PML-N led the race after bagging 12 seats out of total 36 seats. The PTI got 8 seats, PPP won 7 seats, independents secured 7 seats and MC got 2 seats. 

Out of total two seats for member municipal committee, the PML-N and PTI won 1 seat each.  

And out of total 4 seats for member town committee, the PML-N secured 3 seats while PTI could grab 1 seat.

According to the earlier unofficial results, in district Neelum, out of 15 UC seats, the PTI won 7 seats. People’s Party has got 3, PML-N bagged 2 while 2 seats were won by the independents. The result of one seat was still pending.

In district Jhelum valley, the PTI clinched 10 union council seats out of 18. PPP got 3 and PML-N grabbed 5 seats.

In district Muzaffarabad, the PPP got highest number of seats as it bagged 17 seats out of 41 seats, followed by the PTI which could achieve 16 seats. While, the PML-N bagged 2 seats, Muslim Conference got 3 seats and independent candidates secured 2 seats. 

The result of one union council was yet to receive.
