Imran Khan directs Punjab govt to provide health cards to all citizens
Prime Minister Imran Khan has announced good news for the citizens of Punjab province as he directed Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid to provide Insaf Health Cards to all citizens in the province in phases, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The Prime Minister said first of all Health cards should be provided to the most vulnerable sectors of the society.
Imran Khan also warned the masses about a possible second wave of COVId-19 in Pakistan and asked the public to wear masks and comply with SOPs to stem the spread of the coronavirus, the TV channel reported on Wednesday.
Imran Khan said: “If we will go through these coming two months, then by the will of Allah Almighty, the COVID-19 threat will be over.”
He was addressing an Insaf Doctors Forum at jam-packed Aiwan-e-Iqbal, Lahore.
Imran Khan said Lahore has smog also and on this we need to be careful because COVID-19 can spread more in populated cities.
He criticised the opposition for looting the countries and not introducing reforms in the health sector.
He blamed past rulers for not focusing on improving the standards of the public sector hospitals. Imran Khan said previous rulers went to London for their medical treatment.
“Reforms means the hospitals should run on merit,” Khan added.
It is pertinent to note that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has already introduced the Sehat Insaf Cards for all the KP citizens. The program was launched on August 20 by the Prime Minister Imran Khan. The Sehat Insaf Card is a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf flagship project for 40 million people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa that will benefit 1.8 million families.
For that, KP government and State Life Insurance inked an agreement to provide Sehat Sahulat Programme facility through which people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will be given Health Insurance through their CNICs.
