PM thanks US govt for additional $30m aid for flood victims

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday thanked the United States (US) government for announcing an additional $30 million in humanitarian assistance for the flood victims, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
In a tweet, the prime minister said that with the start of the winter, the challenges of food, health and shelter persisted.
“The world should promptly contribute to the United Nations (UN) aid appeal to mitigate the impact of the tragedy,” he appealed.

Earlier on Thursday, US Ambassador Donald Blome had announced that the US was providing an additional $30 million in response to severe flooding in Pakistan, bringing its total support to nearly $100 million the current year.
