AC judge who issued Nawaz’s arrest warrants retiring next year

The notification of the retirement of Accountability Court Judge Muhammad Bashir has been issued, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.

Judge Muhammad Bashir will retire from service after attaining superannuation on March 14, 2024.

During his tenure, the judge has heard some high profile cases of former president Asif Ali Zardari, former premiers Nawaz Sharif, Yousaf Raza Gillani, Imran Khan and Shaukat Aziz.

The judge had issued perpetual arrest warrants for Nawaz Sharif in the Toshakhana case in 2020 which were revoked only on October 19, 2023 after former premier appeared before the court.
