Punjab CM Maryam orders FIRs for renting out property to Afghans

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has ordered registration of FIRs against those house owners who rent out their properties to any foreign national, including Afghans, reported 24NewsHD TV channel. 

Chairing sixth consecutive meeting on law-and-order situation in Lahore on Tuesday, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz directed to make announcements in mosques for identifying illegal Afghan residents. 

Maryam Nawaz directed officials concerned to submit daily reports on renting out houses, shops, factories, hotels, petrol pumps, etc. to foreign nationals, including Afghans. 

The meeting was agreed to conduct field surveys on illegally residing foreigners in all districts.

Patwari, Numbardar and SHO will be responsible for reporting property given to foreigners.

During the meeting, a decision was also made to take legal action against foreigners including Afghans who are working in Pakistan on visit visa or illegally.

Reports have also been sought on anonymous and suspicious properties.

Chief Minister was given a detailed briefing in which it was briefed that five cases registered for giving property rent to an illegally residing Afghan in Khanewal.

It was briefed that 45 holding centers have been established for Afghan citizens in all districts of the province.

Illegally residing Afghan citizens are being provided with accommodation, food, and transport to the Torkham border.

Latest facial recognition technology has been used to identify Afghans. 

A campaign against illegal weapons across Punjab has been launched after that people contacted CCD. 

Social media activists who propagated for extremist parties also came under the purview of the law. 

After necessary action, the de-sealing of madrassas has started across Punjab.

The meeting directed to submit accurate data of Afghan residents living in Punjab.

Maryam Nawaz ordered only responsible should be caught and not innocent persons.
