Sindh Education Department has handed over 32 public schools to private partners Shehzad Roy and Kiran Foundation as part of USAID project, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
These 32 public schools will now be operated by private partners of the Sindh Education Department. Ten schools are already being run by private partners in Sindh.
It is uncertain that the Sindh government has no trust in itself or its own employees to run these public schools.
Sindh Basic Education issued Rs159 million to run these schools while the Sindh Education department has also allocated Rs10 million for the project.
As per the arrangement with the private partners, these schools will be operated by partner party but Sindh Basic Education will monitor their performance.
