Boost in house rent ceiling of govt employees approved

The Ministry of Housing has approved the decision to increase in the house rent allowance ceiling of government employees in view of high rents of residences in Islamabad especially and other major cities including Rawalpindi, Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, Quetta, reported 24NewsHD TV on Tuesday.

The additional rent will apply from July 1, 2021 as a formal office memorandum on rent increases has been issued.

Grade 22 rental ceiling for Islamabad is fixed at Rs. 68,364 to Rs. 98,444. Grade 21 rental ceiling for Islamabad has been fixed at Rs 57,126 to Rs 82,261.

Grade 20 rental ceiling for Islamabad fixed at Rs. 47,709 to Rs. 68,700

Grade 19 rental ceiling for Islamabad has been fixed at Rs. 37,989 to Rs. 54,704.

For Islamabad, rental ceiling of grade 17 and 18 has been fixed from Rs. 28,574 to Rs. 41,147.

Grade 14 to 16 rental ceiling increased from Rs 21,587 to Rs 31,085.

 Grade 11 to 13 employees ceiling increased from Rs 17,183 to Rs 24,744.

Grade 7 to 10 employees ceiling increased from Rs 11,391 to Rs. 16,403.

Grade 3 to 5 employees ceiling increased from Rs 7625 to Rs. 10980.
