In one of the biggest robbery incidents in the history of Hyderabad, dacoits took away Rs300 million from a cash delivery van on national highway on Wednesday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Asghar Shah told the police that nine armed men came in a car and on two motorcycles after the cash delivery van he was driving malfunctioned on national highway.
“The accused fled away after looting Rs300 million at gunpoint,” he added.
“A compliant about the incident has been filed. Facts will come forth after further investigations,” police said.
In another incident that had occurred in Shahdara Town, Lahore, a housemaid took away cash, foreign currency and gold worth millions of rupees from a house along with her accomplices.
Police registered a theft case on the complaint of the affected woman.
According to the First Information Report (FIR), 125 tola of gold, €30,000 and Rs1.1 million were among the looted property.
The affected woman told the police that her husband was based in Germany.
She added that she had withdrawn gold and cash from bank for the marriage ceremony of her daughter.
Police said that efforts were underway for the arrest of accused housemaid Asiya.
