Afghan wheelchair cricket team welcomed as T20 series begins tomorrow

A historic moment in cricketing ties will unfold tomorrow as the Wheelchair T20 Cricket Series between Pakistan and Afghanistan kicks off in Karachi. 

According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, the Afghan wheelchair cricket team arrived in Pakistan for their first-ever tour, receiving a warm welcome.

At Jinnah International Airport, the team was greeted by Pakistan Wheelchair Cricket Council President Rukhsana Rajput and national captain Muhammad Zeeshan, before being escorted to their hotel under strict security arrangements.

The glittering trophy of the Pak-Afghan Wheelchair T20 Series will be unveiled today, setting the stage for an inspiring sporting contest.

The four-match series will begin on 29 September, with the second match scheduled for 30 September, the third on 1 October, and the final on 2 October.

Speaking to the media, Council President Rukhsana Rajput said the Afghan team’s first-ever visit to Pakistan holds immense importance. 

“This series carries great significance ahead of the Asia Cup and highlights the spirit of inclusivity in cricket,” she remarked.

The Afghan wheelchair cricket team will take to Pakistani grounds tomorrow, marking a new chapter of friendship and competition between the two nations.
