One accused dead, three injured in police encounters in Lahore, Hassanabdal
One accused was killed and three received critical wounds during police encounters in Lahore and Hassanabdal, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
The first police encounter took place in Harbanspura of Lahore, where a Crime Control Department (CCD) team was taking the accused Amir for recovery.
After taking notice of the police party, some accomplices of the accused started firing. During heavy exchange of firing, the under-custody accused Amir received serious bullet wounds and died on the spot.
Later, the police shifted the dead body of Amir to a hospital’s mortuary.
In the second police encounter in Attock, police arrested three accused, including two brothers.
The injured dacoits were identified as Amjad Ali, Gul Nabi, and Waris Khan. Some armed assailants opened fire on the CCD team in a bid to free the arrested accused from police custody.
All three accused became seriously injured during the firing. Police shifted them to the local hospital.
CCD sources said that the arrested accused are involved in serious criminal cases, including dacoity and snatching.
It is necessary to mention here that the mastermind of this dacoit gang was killed during a police encounter a few days ago.
