Abdul Rahman Ibn Abdul Aziz al-Sudais – who is the in-charge of administrative affairs concerning the Two Holy Mosques – has said that the people would soon be able to perform Umrah.

Expressing the hope about the coronavirus being eliminated from Saudi Arabia, he said the people would soon be allowed to offer prayers at the Grand Mosque (Masjid al-Haram) and Masjid an-Nabawi.

On the other hand, the Saudi Ministry for Hajj and Umrah in a tweet said the COVID-19 pandemic would soon be eliminated under the wise leadership of King Salman and Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

It also promised that Makkah and Medinah would be crowded again with the Muslims from all over the world.

Earlier, the Saudi government decided that the Two Holy Mosques in Makkah and Madinah will hold the nightly Taraweeh prayers during Ramazan but only in the presence of clerics and staff who work on maintenance, the kingdom announced.

“The Saudi authorities have decided to hold Taraweeh and Tahajjud prayers in the Two Holy Mosques, while continuing to suspend the attendance of worshippers,” Sheikh Abdul Rahman Al-Sudais wrote on Twitter. He added that authorities had also suspended Itikaf – during which Muslims spend the last 10 days of Ramazan in mosques.
