Fire reduces 35-acre wheat crop to ashes in Narowal

A fire has reduced wheat crop grown over 35 acres of land to ashes at Narowal, causing the loss of millions of rupees to the landlord as well as peasants, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.
According to reports, a fire suddenly broke out at the wheat crop in village Mandeke Bobak located in the suburbs of Narowal city, and spread like a wild fire.

Although the blaze was put out after the hectic efforts of two hours, but the damage it had done to the crop by the time it was extinguished left the landlord as well as the peasants stunned.

Initially, locals tried to put out the fire on their own, but failed.
Eventually vehicles of Rescue 1122 and fire brigade reached the site and managed to control it after the hectic efforts of two hours.
It is being speculated that somebody might have thrown a burning cigarette in the crop that would have resulted in the fire.
The helpless farmers have demanded the government compensate them for their losses.
