While announcing its reserved judgement, the Election Commission of Pakistan has disposed of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf petitions in the Gilanis’ disqualification case, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The Election Commission pronounced its judgement on Friday saying that PPP senior leader and former prime minister Yousaf Raza Gilani would continue to remain senator while disposing of the PTI’s petitions challenging his election.

In its ruling, the ECP said that the commission was not presented with correct facts in the Yousaf Raza Gilani case. As many as 20 hearings of the case were held and 12 times the hearings were adjourned.

The verdict in this case has not been reserved even for one month.

However, the district election commissioner has been directed to register a case against Ali Haider Gilani for employing corrupt political practices.

The ECP ordered to launch an inquiry against Ali Haider, Faheem Khan and Captain Jamil for corrupt practices.

The commission has announced judgement on the PTI petitions submitted by Farrukh Habib, Maleeka Bokhari, Kanwal Shauzab and Aliya Hamza.
