FBR introduces new sales tax recovery system for cement sector

Federal Bureau of Revenue (FBR) has introduced new sales tax recovery system for cement sector, reported 24NewsHDTV Channel. 

According to a notification, minimum retail price of cement has been fixed for collection of sales tax. 

The minimum retail price of cement will be in line with the national average price of the Bureau of Statistics. 

The price will be as per the average price of the weekly report issued before the 1st and 16th of each month. The minimum retail price for the Summit sector will be implemented from May 1, 2025.

According to data from the Bureau of Statistics, the average price of a 50-kilogram bag of cement before May 1 was Rs1,410.
