Mentally deranged man climbs hi-tension electric pole in Karachi

A man climbed a high-tension electric pole near Surjani Town Chowrangi in Karachi on Wednesday, leading to a rush of people and rescuers, who gathered around the pole and kept urging him to come down, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.

However, at last the rescue teams succeeded in persuading the man to come down.

According to rescuers, the man was mentally unstable.

A month ago, a man climbed a high-tension electricity pole near Pasban Chowk in the Ibrahim Hyderi area of Karachi, police said.

The incident occurred within the limits of the Zaman Town police station, prompting an immediate response from rescue teams.

However, after nearly an hour of efforts, rescuers managed to persuade the man to come down safely.

Police said the individual’s name was Abdul Hakeem, who was a resident of Ali Akbar Goth in Ibrahim Hyderi.

The Force informed that he climbed the pole out of frustration over personal and domestic problems.
