Army, Navy continue relief and rescue efforts in flood-hit Karachi

Pakistan Army and Pakistan Navy Saturday continue their relief and rescue efforts in flood-hit areas of Karachi.
According to an Inter-Services Public Relations press release, Pakistan Army Engineers cleared COD underpass on Shahrahe Faisal for traffic while work on KPT underpass in progress to make it functional.
Pakistan Army is also providing the basic commodities including ration items through its mobile teams at badly affected areas while cooked meals are also being provided to stranded people in flood-hit areas.
Army personnel are also busy in dewatering at multiple locations continue to ensure civic facilities.
Army Mobile Recovery vehicles have also been deployed at various choke points to shift vehicles struck in flood to keep flow of traffic.
The ISPR said that 32 emergency medical and 56 relief camps have been established in coordination with civil administration and are busy in helping people in distress in various parts of Karachi.
Three Army field medical facilities have been established at Qayyumabad, Sarjani and Sadi town and army doctors and paramedics are providing immediate emergency medical care to flood victims.
