Flood alert issued, spillways of Rawal Dam opened

The Islamabad administration has issued a flood alert for the population living close to the drains as spillways of Rawal Dam has been opened on Monday evening.

According to the 24News HD TV channel, after heavy rains in the upper areas, the water level in Rawal Dam in Islamabad has been raised again.

On the instructions of the Deputy Commissioner, all the rescue teams have been alerted in the adjacent areas.

The DC said Section 144 is already imposed in the city which prohibits people from going near drains. He warned that legal action will be taken in case of violation.

He said monitoring camps have been mobilized under the supervision of Assistant Commissioner Rural while the Rawalpindi administration has also been informed in this regard.
